Learning is fun-damental
For the first time in a long time in a long time I a actually attempting to learn something again. I try to pick up little bits of stuff here and there, but I am actually making a concerted effort to learn Markdown language.
What is Markdown?
Markdown is basically a way to format documents that is really light-weight and, it turns out, super powerful.
This explains it a little better:
Markdown is a lightweight markup language that allows users to format text using plain text. It was created by John Gruber in 2004, with contributions from Aaron Swartz, and is designed to be easy to read and write in its raw form while being convertible into HTML or other rich text formats.
The primary goal of Markdown was to create a syntax that is simple and intuitive, enabling users to focus on content creation without getting bogged down by complex formatting rules.
Markdown is widely used for creating documentation, web content, and other text that needs to be transformed into different formats.
Its simplicity and readability make it a popular choice among developers, writers, and technical professionals.
Why am I Learning Markdown?
It’s used all over the interent and it’s used on this blog (which is run on Hugo) and it’s also the formatting used for my new personal knowledge wiki built on Trilium.

Got the hydrolic motor back from the shop after a $350 repair and now I get to put it back on the mower and re-assemble the whole thing. Hopefully I can get it all assembled correctly

Threshold run
This is my “recovery” week before my big 3 week push, so I am doing 5 sets of 3 minutes at Lactic Threshold, 3 minutes rest. I have a 15 minute warmup and cool down wrapped around it. Should be fun.
Parting Thoughts
Markdown isn’t too bad. I’m getting used to the tools and the notation. Some of it still doesn’t make any sense. I don’t understand WHY something works in one situation, but not in others. I guess I’ll figure it out with time!
