Yesterday was a busy day! After work I really had to hurry to get things done!

The Running

I am on a “down” week, recovering so my body can adapt to the last 3 weeks training and be ready for the next 3 weeks hard training. After the next 3 weeks, I’ll have a 2 week taper, then I’ll be running my first ultra, the East Fork 50K. I am looking forward to it, but the next 3 weeks are going to be a lot of work!

Here is how yesterdays session went. It was a 15 min warmup followed by 5X (3 min at lactic threshold pace, 3 min easy jog recovery) and then a 15 min cooldown. I cut the cooldown short because the neighbors really hate it when you poop in their yard!

It feels good to actually see some improved times rather than see the same times every run for weeks and weeks.

The Mower

Okay, I had to phone a friend. Actually, I happen to be BSing with my dad while I was working on the mower and, since I was struggling, I put the phone in video mode and Dad worked with me to get the hydrolic motor and belt back on the mower. Ofcourse the new belt that I got was the wrong belt, so I had to use the old one, but who cares?!? It works and I got it running.

I had to add in about 2 gal of hydrolic fluid and bypass a broken safety switch, but I got it running. After dinner I got the front yard mowed until the only light was that of the fireflies!

Recreation

Erica, Nate, and I finished Murderbot 🤖 It was a good series! I have read all the books and yeah, I am gonna be that guy, the books were way better than the show, but that doesn’t mean the show wasn’t great! I recommend you watch it, but more-so I recommend you read the books (or listen to the audiobooks)!
