I am getting nervous about the Crowell Hilaka being 16 days away and me not feeling strong. I have this niggle in my right hip and it’s got me concerned.
The pain is in my right hip flexor just to the right side and below of the pelvic bone. I don’t feel pain when I run until about a mile in. Then it is more of an ache than a sharp pain. It doesn’t seem to be getting worse during the run, but I have only run a couple miles with the pain.
During the day when not running, it doesn’t hurt, but I am aware of it. It just is noticeable that it feels different. This is noticeable when I am sitting mostly. Sometimes when I move in an sidestep type step, it kinda flares.
I don’t know if I should be resting it, running through it, exercising it, taking NSAIDs, or sacrificing a chicken. I thought that this would go away quickly and, although it isn’t really a PAIN, it’s still here.
I am concerned as I feel like I am starting to miss some quality miles that I need for the 50K. I am missing them because I am not sure if I should run or work through it. Yesterday, I skipped my run because I thought that maybe another day of rest would help it out. I am not sure if that was the right call though.
